Vacation in Georgia and South Carolina

In March, I hit the road with Mama and Papa and headed south. We went to Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC for a week.

We had a good time, though I am not a big fan of hotel rooms. Well, the vista was great from our hotel in Savannah, as you can see in those pictures, here.

We first went to Savannah for four days and then to Charleston for two days before we visited our friends Anna, Lei, and Jody in North Carolina. I am considering a career as a rock star, but see - and hear - for yourself.

P.S.: You can adjust the timing of the slide show with the minus and plus buttons before and after seconds. The default is set to 3 seconds which might be too fast.

Schwabens Stolz

I know I represent Schwaben here in DC, so I wanted to let you all know how good a job I am doing.

But before we turn to that, let me tell you that I am sick and tired of winter. My parents put me into this thick coat which makes me look like Bibendum.

Then they shlep me to the Capitol 1 1/2 weeks before the coldest inauguration ever.

And lastly, I have to go to MA for a short weekend, so that I can be in snow...

To top it off, I also got my first haircut. I was not happy (the matter of fact is that I just woke up and I held on veeeery tightly to that phone of mine).

But now to the real issue: Putzen, Waschen, Aufräumen, Saugen, Wischen, Kärchern: First a couple of pictures and then a short movie-clip.

Bye 2008, Hallole 2009

The wonderful year 2008 is over and I was really lazy towards the end, no blog for two months.
So let me wrap it up and allow us to start with 2009.

I put together a little slideshow for you about the following:

My trip to Massachusetts in October
My Halloween as a pumpkin
My Gutsle-baking

Let's close 2008, things will get even better in 2009 and plenty of new blog entries.

My Harley

OK, so my Papa told me to stay away from the boys and men with motor bikes. Fine with me, I will just follow my grandmother's steps and ride my own bike.

By the way in the background you can see the Berlin fence. It used to be a Berlin wall which was supposed to keep me from going up the stairs - but one day I decided that the Berlin wall has to go and I tore it down. The historian noted that it was October 4, 2008 when this Silver Spring version of the wall fell.

The Future

People keep nagging me about the elections. In two weeks, people will decide about my future - the Hawaiian surfer dude or the old man. But I don't have to wait, I took a look at the crystal ball. I can see the future, and it's not like Leonard Cohen saw it "Give me absolute control over every living soul [...] Give me back the Berlin wall" - Leonard was wrong, I tore down that wall and it ain't coming back, but more on that later.

Anyways, I see the future of America, for America and by America: Ich sehe schwarz.

Miss Pumpkin 2008

It's that time again - Pumpkin Time.

The day the Silver Spring Wall fell (more on that later), I went to a Pumpkin Patch with my parents. First, I needed to refresh myself with some water.

Then I was ready for some apple picking. My Mama's favorite Fuji apples, Cameo and Sun Crisp.

While walking back, I finally understood what Peter Maffay meant with his "Sieben Brücken" - He actually talked about Ziegen Brücken.

And finally - I showed off the little pumpkin that I picked:

Vamos A La Playa

Hello,

We went on vacation to beautiful Massachusetts, my almost home state. I put some pictures in a slide show.
